Wow, what a book,...about the author. This whole book is a self-propaganda of how great he is.
No kidding in a few chapters he actually acknowledges how much he talks about himself and says,
Here is someone else that feels the same way about me. In other words,.. “Me, me, me, me, me….
Enough about me, here is what someone else says about me”. Don’t waste your money.

A Good Resource for the Hard-Pressed Solomon Kane GM

This book is a supplement for The Savage World of Solomon Kane (Savage Worlds; S2P10400), and contains material to be used to extend that game. It is not a game in its own right.

What you get is a slim volume, about the same thickness as the Savage Worlds Deluxe (S2P10014) rulebook (which you do *not* require to play Solomon Kane) that contains stats for various opponents, human and otherwise, to give your adventurers much trouble and a reason to save the world from them.

Each "bad guy" comes with a description, a full-color picture and a scenario in which he/she/it/they has/have the starring role as the special guest villain of the piece. GMs with experience of Savage Worlds plot-point campaigns or one-page adventures will have met the format. The scene is set, the stats given and an overview of the salient plot-points laid out so that the adventure can play out without "coming off the rails" in a catastrophic manner that destroys the fun for everyone.

Physically, the hardback book is the usual Savage Worlds/Studio 2 production - full color with a stitched and cloth binding. The one here is actually much superior to that of some of the other books in the range, being more flexible and less-likely to separate in use (one of my other books had the pages separate from the glue, and another shows signs of the glue pulling off the cloth, which I diagnose as too much glue in the construction).

All in all a great resource for a Solomon Kane GM who needs ideas for campaigns or who just needs a ready-made adventure with a new enemy.

A Great Love Story!

I loved the way that Mr. Love writes, especially the way he writes each and every one of his short stories. I wish he would write a longer novel, I'll wait until that day happens. I enjoyed this short story from start to finish, loved the way the storyline flowed together in perfect harmony. I loved the undeniable chiemstry between Charmian and Clint, the miscommunication, and the failed attempts to see that they liked one another . It was super amazing. I just wish the story was longer. I never wanted it to end. it was that freaking good. This is another favorite of mines by Mr. Love. I think it's one of his best. he did a good job!

This was a short story but so much better written the 1st one I read. So glad I was tempted to try another. Just wish the ending was a little more detailed. HEA but could have extended out to an exact ending.

David B Grant, PhD is Professor in Logistics and Deputy Academic Director at the University of Hull Logistics Institute, Kingston upon Hull, UK. He has previously lectured at Calgary, Lethbridge, Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt Universities. Professor Grant holds BComm and MBA degrees from the University of Calgary and MSc by Research (with Distinction) and PhD degrees from the University of Edinburgh. His doctoral thesis investigated customer service, satisfaction and service quality in food processing logistics and was awarded the James Cooper Memorial Cup PhD Award by the UK Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. Professor Grant's logistics and supply chain management research interests focus on customer service and satisfaction, service quality, relationships, the integration of logistics and marketing, services marketing, research methodologies and techniques, and SME logistics. He has published over 70 papers in refereed academic journals, conference proceedings and books and his business experience includes corporate banking, retailing, and financial and marketing consulting. Professor Grant is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, the UK Logistics Research Network, and the Nordic logistics research group NOFOMA. He is also a member of the UK Higher Education Academy and holds a Professional Certificate in University Teaching from the University of Edinburgh. James R Stock teaches at the University of Southern Florida. Douglas M Lambert teaches at Ohio State University. Lisa M Ellram teaches at Arizona State University.

Amazing introduction and professional treatment of the Supply Chain for Senior Executives

As an executive, I was always weary of dealing with Logistics and was at the mercy of idiots who professed to know about supply chain management. Having read this thorough textbook on logistics, which was very easy to read by the way, the lights turned on!! Its a comprehensive analysis of ALL aspects of the supply chain communicated in easy to understand yet profound simplicity. I GET logistics now. Cannot be duped by warehouse cowboys after reading this text.

Biko's courageous and delicate testimony, recorded here in the dramatic format of direct and cross examination, explores almost every issue in South Africa and..shows something of Biko's brilliance, humor, vision and quickness of mind.

This was to be his last public statement. In Sept. 1977, Bantu Stephen Biko was murdered in a South African jail.

i think steve biko was a man of right he is so wonderful and when i read the book and wached the video i was tuched by the words that donnaled woods had used i have his book under my bed and i pray evey night that i can be just like steve biko i wish that the people that did that to him should have died strate away and go toHELL. i would love to have seen him and tell him HE HAS MAKE A DIFFERENT I LOVE STEVE BIKO PEACE OUT TO THE BLACK

A brilliant understanding of oppression

This book is an excellent source for seeing the experience of apartheid from which the theory of black consciousness emerged. Biko lucidly articulates both the people and the regime he found himself in conflict with, and parallel's between his appraisal and his idea's are made clear. A must read for anyone who wants to get a full understanding of black consciousness.

Remains vital after fifteen hundred years

The particular edition I am reviewing is the Oxford World's Classics translation by P. G. Walsh.

This is one of those classics that can catch an unsuspecting reader completely by surprise, especially if one has read many other works by near contemporaries. The circumstances under which it was composed are legendary, and lend the work a legitimacy granted to few other works. Boethius was among the foremost government officials in what was essentially the successor government to the end of the Roman Empire. Rome and much of the rest of what would later become Italy was under the control of the Ostrogoth king Theodoric. A product of one of the leading Roman familes, Boethius ascended to a power of great honor and authority under Theodoric, only to be accused of treason late in the latter's life, at which point Boethius was imprisoned and condemned to death. While awaiting his fate (including whether Theodoric actually intended on carrying out the sentence), Boethius wrote this remarkable dialog between a prisoner whose situation closely resembles Boethius' and Philosophy personified as a woman. Although many topics are discussed, the heart of the dialog is the nature of true happiness.

Although few of its readers are likely to face circumstances as dire as Boethius', the work remains remarkably pertinent in an age where ideals of happiness are dictated almost entirely by our modern consumer society. Philosophy carefully explains to the prisoner that that happiness can never be found in such things as fame or power or riches and other things that are confused with the true source of happiness. For Boethius' Philosophy, happiness is ultimately rooted in the Christian God, but even for non-Christians, the lightly theological tone of the work provides much reflection on the nature of happiness in almost any kind of situation.

The Walsh edition of this work is, in my opinion, the finest readily available edition in English. The notes are marvelous, both providing overviews to each upcoming section as well as providing detailed comments on specific lines in the text. The introduction gives any new reader of the work all the context and background that he or she would need to digest the work. Best of all, the translation is exceptionally readable, and the translations of the many poems far above the average for most academic translations of verse.

I recommend this work strongly to either of two kinds of readers. First, for anyone who is a student of intellectual history the work remains for an understanding of a host of writers in the middle ages, as well as for many 19th century poets. Second, anyone interested in devotional or reflectional works, whether religious or philosophical, this remains one of the most essential works in the history of thought. By almost any standard, this is a work that demands careful reading and study.

1. Change the situation
2. Change your evaluation of the cause for distress
3. Take medication or other means to bear what otherwise seems unbearable.
In my view Boethius goes for the 2nd option as the wise embodiment of wisdom and philosophy encourages him to do.

The One and the Good

Here you find the unequivocal declaration that not riches, not high position, not fame, not physical pleasure are worth pursuing in-and-of themselves. Such things are of value only if they are obtained in the pursuit of the highest Good. This highest Good is demonstrated to be God. Moreover, Boethius points out that when evil men succeed in obtaining such goals over the righteous, then they cease to truly be men- they are beasts and subhuman. This is a refreshing reminder in the modern world, a world not unlike that of late Roman times.

All happyness, all worth, all reason for being, lies in the One and the Good. Even when we commit immoral acts, it is a result of ignorance on our part in seeking this ultimate goal. Indeed, to turn from the quest of finding the One is to cease to exist at any meaningful level. There is no "fire and brimstone", or talk of eternal torment in hell here. There doesn't need to be. As long as you willfully or ignorantly stray from the Path then you are in hell. And to not find reconnection with the One and the Good is to cease to exist. All of our earthly existence is for the purpose of reawakening to our true nature. This truth lies within all of us and it is only reached by personal introspection (Know thyself.) Only in this way will we return to the eternal Source that lies beyond time itself.

The consolation of the Consolatio lies in the fact that suffering serves a purpose if it puts us back on the true Path. Moreover, earthly recognition of virtue is irrelevent. God always recognises the man of virtue if the masses do not.

Great educational material about acupuncture

This is an easy read that reveals the most common misconceptions about acupuncture. Best of all, it is written in plain English! So if you, a friend or a family member aren't too sure about trying acupuncture, this is a great book dispel fears and reveal truths. Each myth also has the corresponding explanation with references so if you want to dig a bit deeper it's all there for you. I'm an acupuncturist and I've already started telling my patients about the "10 Myths About Acupuncture" because they are always asking me for ways to let their friends and family know that "acupuncture works"!
